The Children’s Learning & Play Festival

A Day of Fun For The Whole Family!

Come out to WestWorld of Scottsdale for music, learning and fun for kids of all ages! Supported by the Scottsdale Public Library, the festival is free of charge offering opportunities to meet famous authors and enjoy kid’s shows, live performances, read-along activities, costumed characters, a chalk festival and more.

The day-long Children’s Learning & Play Festival features live readings by Marc Brown, creator of the Arthur® books and Emmy Award-winning PBS KIDS show, children’s and teen authors and illustrators, storytelling, kids activity zone, imagination station, technology showcase, Lego® racers, solar amusement park, basketball shootout, pickle ball court, musical acts, petting zoo, face painting, Desert Discovery Center animal exhibit and conservation lessons.

Highlights include two stages for live readings, activities for infants and toddlers, singing duo “Wayward Maggie,” Scottsdale Library’s Read Aloud Night performances, Scottsdale Fire Department trucks, fire fighters and paramedics, Scottsdale Police vehicles, K-9 and mounted units, city dump trucks for kids to “get behind the wheel,” camps & schools showcase, local area vendors, and gourmet food trucks.

Sponsors are The Friends of the Scottsdale Public Library, Scottsdale Parks & Recreation, City of Scottsdale, Arizona Parenting Magazine, The Arizona Republic, Tuft & Needle, Cold Stone Creamery, and Southwest Human Development.
