Free Virtual Workshops for Students – Code your own video game with MakeCode Arcade: Planning Tile Maps

In this level 200 installment of our MakeCode virtual workshop series, students ages 8 and older use block-based coding to create a video game with MakeCode Arcade.
Planning Tile Maps:
Students learn the fundamental gaming concept of tile maps and how they are used in creating the worlds of video games. Participants will use their new skills to create and customize a playable game.
By the end of the workshop, students will have:
- Learned and used key game design and coding concepts, focusing on building a world tile maps
- Coded a playable game
- Published their game via a URL so they can continue to play and develop it after the camp
Recommended: Having attended “Code your own video game with MakeCode Arcade: Introduction” or any other Microsoft MakeCode classes.
